Ailsa was born and raised in Calgary but, as she is half Australian, she has also spent some time living and working in Australia and New Zealand. She returned to Calgary in 2005, where she is currently raising her family, and she is proud to assist her fellow Calgarians and clients with their wills and estate planning, probate and estate administration, and adult guardianship and trusteeship needs. Ailsa received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and her Master of Science in Accessible and Inclusive Design prior to earning her law degree from the University of Calgary. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (Wills and Estates and Business Law Sections).

Prior to earning her Law degree, Ailsa worked for many years as an Occupational Therapist in Alberta and abroad, assisting clients and families to successfully deal with challenging life circumstances. Her years of experience working and collaborating with clients of all ages and abilities has provided her with unique insights into the issues that families and individuals face when planning for the future.

Prior to joining Underwood Gilholme Ailsa established her own practice with the vision of making Estate Law more understandable and accessible. As the daughter of two teachers, Ailsa has discovered through her legal practice her own passion for teaching and she strives to provide information and education on Estate Planning topics so that people feel empowered to make informed decisions about the legacy that is established by their estate plan. Ailsa has prepared and presented seminars on Estate Planning topics to industry and community groups and through Chinook Learning Services.

When Ailsa is not assisting her clients, you might find her spending time with her husband and two children, playing the piano, cooking a gourmet meal, or planning an adventure to warmer climates. She hopes one day to actually have the time to go on one of these adventures.
