Janice has extensive experience in wills, trusts and estate law. She is adept at helping clients navigate challenging and complex situations and provides thorough and practical solutions. Her practice includes estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration, estate dispute resolution and guardianship and trusteeship matters.

Janice has worked in both private and public sectors in advising on estate matters. She was formerly legal counsel for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee where she provided legal representation and advice on a wide variety of estate litigation issues including interpretation of wills, variation of trusts, claims for family maintenance and support, missing beneficiaries, adult interdependent partner claims, accounting applications, validation of non-compliant wills, intestacies and creditor claims. She also acted in numerous and varied applications under the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act.

Janice is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Canadian Bar Association Wills & Trusts Law Section and is a former member of the Surrogate Round Table Committee. She has provided numerous seminars relating to estate planning to various organizations.

Janice received her BA from the University of Calgary and her LLB from the University of Victoria. She and her husband, Chris, have three children. Janice enjoys cycling, cross country skiing, learning Spanish and playing piano.
